Itinerary

Day 1: MANILA/ BANAUE JOURNEY

Stop At: Dalton Pass Shrine, Dalton Pass Between Nueva Ecija And Nueva Viscaya, General Tinio, Luzon Philippines
0600H - Depart Manila for Banaue via North Expressway. The gateway to Banaue is through the land locked evergreen provinces of Nueva Ecija and Nueva Vizcaya. Countryside settings such as rice fields surrounding the small towns and villages are common sight showing simplicity of living. In San Jose City, a short stop at a restaurant for lunch (on individual account). Resume drive to Banaue, stop at Dalton Pass (Dalton Pass, also called Balete Pass, is a zigzag road and mountain pass that joins the provinces of Nueva Ecija and Nueva Vizcaya, in central Luzon island of the Philippines. It is part of Cagayan Valley Road segment of Pan-Philippine Highway.) and Sta. Fe, Nueva Vizcaya, passing by Bagabag, where picturesque mountains and rivers start to ascend to the Ifugao land.

Day 2: BREATHTAKING RICE TERRACES/VILLAGE TOUR

Stop At: Batad Rice Terraces, Batad Trail Tappiya Falls Trail, Banaue, Luzon 3601 Philippines
After breakfast, From Banaue to Batad is approximately 16 kms away, the first 14 kms of the which will be traveled by our privately chartered local jeepney. The rest of the distance is on foot using a mountain trail. The trip to Barangay Batad in Banaue, to witness the amphitheater shaped terraces located at 3600 ft., it takes only a 30 minutes hike.

Stop at the panoramic Banaue viewpoint at 4800 ft. that provides a perfect experience of the enormity & extent of the terraces followed by a visit to the Banaue Museum. Banaue Museum features a decades-old books by anthropologist Otley Beyer and Igorot artifacts collected by his son William. The museum is on two floors featuring weaponry, jewelry, traditional dress and photographs of Banaue 100 years ago.

If time permitting, make a stop at the market and souvenir shop before returning to hotel

Day 3: BANAUE / BONTOC/ SAGADA / BANAUE

Stop At: Echo Valley, Land of the Hanging Coffins, Sagada, Luzon Philippines
After breakfast in the hotel, we will start the day with a 3 to 4 hours ride (one way) to picturesque Sagada with its ancient burial caves and mummified coffins at Sugong & Echo Valley. Under guidance of a local English-speaking guide you will glimpse Lumiang Burial Cave which houses more than 100 coffins are stacked in the entrance. The oldest around 500 years old. Many of them have images of lizards carved on them which are symbols of fertility and long life.

Stop At: Sumaguing Cave, Sagada, Luzon Philippines
Then enter the impressive Sumaguing Cave, known for its rock formations and impressive chambers. Visit Bontoc's tribal Museum on the way back, with artifacts and unique pictures from the mountain tribes.

Check in at Rock Inn & Café or similar hotel.
