If you translate Kungsholmen, it translates as Kings Island. The island of Kungsholmen first got its name in 1672. Today, the island is known as the youngest part of town. It has the highest number of single households.

The City Hall is one of Sweden's most famous buildings and was built in the style of the national romantics. With its three golden crowns at the top of the tower overlooking the shores of Lake Mälaren, it is also an important part of the city skyline.
