We will begin the tour by the famous Palma Cathedral, where we will begin our stroll around the area, taking in all the wonderful architecture and history this glorious city has to offer!

Pass By: Estatua Es Foner, Av. d'Antoni Maura, 07001 Palma de Mallorca, Majorca Spain

We will pass by one of the most famous structures within the city instelf, "Estatua Es Foner" o "El Hondero" which translates to "The Swinger". This beautiful structure was donated by the sculptor Jaume Mir in 1992. Jaume Mir was one of the most prestigious Mallorcan sculptors of the 20th century and his work and rigorous technique is internationally renowned.

We will continue to discover the "Old Town" of Palma walking through these beautyful gardens!
"S´hort del Rei" which transaltes to "The Kings Gardens" located under the Almudaina Palace. In the 14th century this area had restricted access, and was full of fruit trees, plants, vegetables and colourful flowers. The current garden was renovated in the 1960s by the architect Gabriel Alomar. Alomar based the renovation of this space on traditional Andalusian gardens. Today the garden has cypresses, fountains and a large pond.

Here we will have the opportunity to walk along part of the old roman walls built to protect the city all those years ago.
You will have the spectacular views of the Almudaina Palace from here and views of other parts of the city!

Stop At: Catedral de Mallorca, Placa la Seu s/n, 07001 Palma de Mallorca, Majorca Spain

Once we come down from the walls we will stop for photos outside Palma Cathedral (La Seu), and hear how the Roman Catholic place of worship was built on the site of an old Arabian mosque. Then, head inside to admire its circular, stained-glass windows and Gaudi-designed features. The colorful, and often controversial, Modernist artist left his mark on the site, and his eye-catching altarpiece is thought to be the cathedral’s highlight. Since you are on our private guided tour you don´t need to wait in any long queues that accumulate at the cathedral (very long!).

Once we have finished the tour of the beautiful cathedral, you will be able to admire the beauty of The Royal Palace of La Almudaina, which dates back to the 14th century. It is the official residence of Their Majesties the King and Queen during their stays in Mallorca. Together with Palma Cathedral, they constitute a landmark of the capital of the Balearic Islands. A palace that reflects the artistic styles that have followed one another throughout the island's history.

While we continue to stroll through the beautiful old town of Palma you will come across the Ayuntamiento de Palma, located in Palma's Plaza de Cort. It was built between 1649 and 1680 by the architects Pere Bauçá, Miquel Oliver and Bartomeu Calafat. Some of the most outstanding elements on its façade are the balcony with seven large windows, the Rellotge d'en Figuera (Figuera Clock) and the Banc del si no fos (Bank of if you don't miss it).

The building itself was declared a Historic-Artistic Monument belonging to the National Artistic Treasure by decree of 3 June 1931.

While you´re taking in the breathtaking views of Palma Old Town and the historic architecture, keep an eye out for The Cort olive tree! This unique tree, known as the Olivera de Cort, was planted in 1999 from Tramuntana mountain range, as a symbol of peace and rootedness to the land. The Cort Olive Tree is located in the middle of the square, right in front of the town hall. Despite the move and its age, it continues to bear fruit every year.

This one is for the Art lovers! A must-see building, due to its characteristics. The stylistic decoration of the façade right through to the interior design, shows a strong influence of Catalan modernism, especially some of Gaudí's work - take in all it´s glory and get the camera out to be able to cherish these moments forever!

By this point we will have covered the main areas in the old town, and our tour guide will be able to give you suggestions about places for a spot of lunch and a drink, including Sa Llotja where there are many tapas bars.
