Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival to Lima

Pass By: Centro Historico de Lima, Plaza de Armas, Lima 15001 Peru
Arrive at Lima airport, receive assistance, and transfer to your selected hotel. Rest of the day is free at leisure to get to know the city. Lima is a modern metropolis full of history, hosting approximately 10 million inhabitants and going through an exciting process of cultural and economic changes.

Day 2: Lima: City tour & Larco museum

Stop At: Centro Historico de Lima, Plaza de Armas, Lima 15001 Peru
Breakfast at the hotel. Explore Lima´s old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site packed with fascinating historic buildings. Start with the Larco Museum, located in the traditional Pueblo Libre district, which is housed in a beautifully restored vice regal mansion built on a pre-Columbian pyramid from the VII century. The museum boasts the most complete pre-Hispanic collection of gold and silver objects, as well as pieces of erotic art. Then visit Casa Aliaga, a colonial mansion granted in 1535 by chief conquistador Francisco Pizarro to Jerónimo de Aliaga, one of his captains. This is the only house from that time that is still owned by the same family through the centuries. Continue to a scenic tour in the colonial downtown, which originates and spreads out from the Main Square, where you can appreciate the grandiose architecture of the Spanish Empire. Be amazed by Lima´s Cathedral, built during the 16th century and took over 80 years to complete. . Then, enjoy dinner at a Gourmet restaurant. Afterwards, return to your hotel.

Day 3: Lima - Cuzco

Stop At: Centro Historico De Cusco, Cusco 08002 Peru
Transfer from your hotel to the airport of Lima to take the flight to the city of Cuzco. Enjoy dinner in Pachapapa restaurant and try local food in a rustic environment in the traditional San Blas neighborhood .

At the end of the day, return to your hotel. Transfer is not included.

Day 4: Cuzco

Stop At: Centro Historico De Cusco, Cusco 08002 Peru
Join a gastronomic tour that includes a visit to the Chocomuseo, and the Pisco Museum; two ideal places in which to learn about the production process of each of these staples, from raw ingredient to end product. To make things even more enticing, in each one of them you will get to enjoy a taste! At the end of the tour, return to your hotel.

Day 5: Cuzco - Maras & Moray

Stop At: Moray Valle Sagrado de los Incas, Maras 08655 Peru
Breakfast at the hotel. Head through the Sacred Valley to Maras, where the salt lagoons create a dazzling scenery. The miles of small ponds provide work and help feed many local families. In times of the Incas, salt deposits were an important economic center and of great value for the imperial economy. Then continue to the archaeological site of Moray, which is about an hour and a half away. Its exact function remains a mystery, although its design in the form of circular terraces is increasingly concentrated in a different microclimate. After this visit, enjoy lunch at a restaurant in the Sacred Valley and then go to rest at your hotel.

Day 6: Ollantaytambo

Stop At: Sacred Valley of the Incas, 0051 Peru
Breakfast at the hotel. Participate in a unique experience where you can learn about the living culture of Ollantaytambo from a different point of view. Be part of a photographic incursion with a professional who starts in the main square, then move to the Pakaritampu pyramid, ideal to capture beautiful images of the valley. On the way back, walk through the town square and its cobblestone streets, crossing its inhabitants and portraying the local colors and architecture. The tour ends in a 'chichería', places declared as Cultural Patrimony of the Nation where the "chicha" is made, artisanal drink with a special meaning in the Andean world. The influence of Ande continues during lunch at Albergue Ollantaytambo, where you will have the opportunity to try a traditional stew: la pachamanca. This forceful preparation made with potatoes, sweet potatoes, meat and vegetables, is characterized by being cooked underground with the warmth of hot stones. While lunch is ready, take a walk through the organic garden, the distillery and the coffee production area to learn about your work process with the local raw material. End your day witnessing the unearthing of the pachamanca and delighting with its mixture of delicious flavors.

Day 7: Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu - Cuzco

Stop At: Hot Springs (Aguas Calientes), Signposted from main square, Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu Peru
After having breakfast at the hotel, your trip to Machu Picchu starts with a transfer to Ollanta train station, where you board a train towards the town of Aguas Calientes on a journey lasting around an hour and a half. Aguas Calientes has a handicrafts market, restaurants, and accommodation of different categories for those who prefer to spend the night next to the mountain and then visit it early next morning. After a short transfer, arrive at Machu Picchu, a masterpiece of engineering and architecture that served as a sanctuary and resting place for Inca Pachacuti. Machu Picchu means ‘Old Mountain’, and was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is also one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. At the end of the tour, return by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch at the Sumaq Hotel. Return to Ollanta station by train with one last transfer to your hotel in Cuzco.

Day 8: Departure Cuzco
