When you arrive on the island, start with a comprehensive tour of the Hotel del Coronado, aka 'the Del,' built in 1888 and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1977. Step into the lobby and downstairs hallway with your guide, who provides fascinating tidbits about the resort and its celebrity-filled heyday. View large photographs on display that present a historical timeline and offer a glimpse into the resort’s enchanting past.
Then head outside to sink your toes into the soft sand of Coronado Beach, often ranked one of the best in the United States, and snap photos of the Del’s famous red roof and white facade.
