This escorted tour takes you to some of Transylvania s most exciting locations. On the first day, you will make the first leg of your journey in Sinaia town to visit Peles Castle. Than we will head through the Carpathians Mountains to tour Bran Castle before making your way to Brasov. Evening at your leisure in this magnificent town!

On the second day, after breakfast, we start the day by driving to Fagaras Mountains. A ride on Transfagarasan Road, an alpine pass with countless switchbacks and spectacular views of the Northern Carpathians, will take you along one of Europe's most scenic mountain roads.
Next is Sighisoara medieval town - UNESCO world heritage and Vlad Dracula's birthplace. Visit Sighisoara medieval town including The Clock Tower, The Church on the Hill, and the house where Vlad the Impaler was born.

On the last day, we go back on time by visiting Viscri village and the fortified church. After we visit Rupea Fortress, we head up south to return to Bucharest City.

Itinerary

Day 1: Bucharest - Peles Castle - Bran Castle - Brasov

While we leave Bucharest, you can admire the beautiful city centre.

Our first destination is the tourist town of Sinaia, where Peles Castle is located, the summer residence of the former Romanian royal family. Peles Castle is one of the most beautiful museums in the world and was built in almost 40 years by King Charles 1. Breathtaking natural beauty is opened in front of your eyes but the most spectacular view is from Busteni where you can admire the peaks of Bucegi Mountains.

Visit Bran Castle and discover the truth behind the legends! On the approach to Bran village, while the castle appears through the mist like something out of a fairytale, it will quickly become clear as to why this magnificent castle is the most well-known castle in the world!

Day 2: Brasov - Transfagasan Road - Sighisoara

Transfagarasan Road, an alpine pass with countless switchbacks and spectacular views of the Northern Carpathians, will take you along one of Europe's most scenic mountain roads.

Take in breathtaking views of the Carpathian Mountains and Transylvanian countryside.

Stop at natural wonders like Balea Lake and Waterfall and Capra Lake.

Visit Sighisoara medieval town - UNESCO world heritage and Vlad the Impaler's birthplace. So resplendent are Sighişoara’s pastel-colored buildings, stony lanes, and medieval towers, you’ll rub your eyes in disbelief. Fortified walls encircle Sighişoara’s lustrous merchant houses, now harboring cafes, hotels, and craft shops. Visit Sighisoara medieval town including The Clock Tower, The Church on the Hill, and the house where Vlad the Impaler was born.

Walking along the wall that surrounds the Sighisoara citadel we admire the five centuries-old houses along with the towers erected by various guilds of the citadel, from which the Shoemakers, Tailors, and Tin Makers Guilds towers are the most impressive. We visit the Church on the Hill but not before climbing the 175 covered steps which were built in 1642 in order to make easier access for the schoolchildren.

Day 3: Sighisoara - Viscri - Rupea Fortress - Bucharest

Stop At: Viscri Fortified Church, Viscri 507039 Romania
Visit Viscri, an authentic Transylvanian village and the oldest fortified church in Transylvania and UNESCO world heritage site. Walking through this enchanting village is like going back in time! Even Prince Charles of Wales, attracted by the beauty of this area, bought a house here a few years ago.
With a medieval fortification at its heart and bucolic meadows in its surrounds, Viscri epitomizes the romance of rural Transylvania. Flowing from Viscri’s medieval fortified church are cobbled lanes flanked by rows of cornflower-blue houses. The only sounds are the rattle of horse-drawn carts and the clank of a blacksmith’s workshop. Viscri village remains one of the best-preserved Saxon villages in Romania. Have a walk through the village and discover a cultural and natural landscape which disappeared in most parts of Europe.
Time is allocated for taking pictures and walking through the village. Your guide will lead you to the best spots!

One of the most imposing and best-conserved medieval sites in Transylvania, Rupea Fortress is a definite must during your trips across this world-unique destination.

Halfway between the medieval cities of Brasov and Sighisoara, the fortress of Rupea amazes through its imposing dimensions and old centuries of history.

Rupea Citadel is one of the oldest archaeological sites in Romania, with the first signs of human settlements dating from the Palaeolithic and early Neolithic.

A popular legend in the area tells that Dacian king Decebalus would commit suicide within the citadel during the Second Dacian War (105–106) when the citadel was known as Ramidava.
