Litchfield National Park is 1500-square kilometers of waterfalls, stunning landscape and Top End flora and fauna. This 1-day tour to Litchfield National Park gives you an insight into the history of Darwin and its surrounds as well as the chance to swim and hang out at some of best waterfalls the park has to offer. You can learn about the endemic flora and fauna with your guide and spot some of the local wildlife that makes Litchfield their home.

Stop At: Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve, Arnhem Highway, Humpty Doo, Northern Territory Australia

Located on the traditional lands of the Limilngan-Wulna people, the wetlands of Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve is home to water pythons, freshwater turtles and plenty more native wildlife including many bird species.

The dam was originally built in 1956 to irrigate seedling rice but the project failed; now Fogg Dam is visited by tourists and locals to observe the diverse wildlife in their natural habitat.

Stop At: Wangi Falls Rd, Litchfield National Park, Northern Territory 0845 Australia

We then continue to Litchfield’s most popular swimming spot, Wangi Falls. A favourite among locals, the water cascades over the Litchfield escarpment into a plunge pool surrounded by thick monsoonal rainforest. We will have lunch and swim here.

Stop At: Buley Rockhole Raod Off Buley Florence, Litchfield National Park, Northern Territory 0822 Australia

After lunch, we make our way to the pools of Buley Rockhole for a relaxing dip among several small, rapid flowing streams. The water ranges from small deep plunge pools to shallow rock pools.

Stop At: Florence Falls, Litchfield National Park, Northern Territory Australia

Florence Falls is a spectacular spring-fed, year-round double waterfall set amid the monsoon forest which cascades into a swimming hole. The lookout from the top provides a panoramic view.

Stop At: Magnetic Termite Mounds, Litchfield National Park, Northern Territory Australia

We’ll check out the magnetic and cathedral termite mounds before heading back to Darwin where you’ll be dropped off at your accommodation around 6pm.
