Day tour to “National Park Ybycuí”

We visit the Ybycui National Park and on its premises the museum “La Rosada” of the Ybycuí iron factory.
The Museum holds a collection of objects that were part of the iron factory that Pte. Carlos Antonio López was promoting.
This foundation was asked to drive the modernization of the country and to apply iron technology to construction, navigation, agriculture and industry. Since 1863, the impending beginning of the war against the “Triple Alianza”, the production of war goods has been prioritized. It worked until 1869, when it was deactivated and then destroyed by the enemy army.

Stop At: La Rosada, Ybycui National Park, Ybycui Paraguay

06:00 am Pick-up in a hotel or private house in Villa Morra (or in Las Carmelitas). Departure towards the South and stop at the famous “Frutería” in Paraguarí *.
We continue our journey to arrive at Ybycuí National Park around 10:30 am. The park measures 2,000 hectares of virgin nature! First we visit the La Rosada Museum, which tells us the important history of the metal industry in Paraguay. Until 1869, cannons and weapons were actually made there. It was destroyed during the Great War and never rebuilt.

Stop At: Parque Nacional Ybycui, Ruta Carapegua - Acahay, Ybycui 4390 Paraguay

At the beginning of the tour of the national park, we will exchange the vehicle for the shoes to start the walk and visit the hidden waterfalls among the most beautiful places: Salto Minas, Salto Guaraní and Saltos Bocaruzú (two). The trails are not difficult, but it is recommended a good physical shape and to arm yourself with outdoor shoes, as we will find rocky spots and large tree roots that stick out from the surface. Time for a picnic (food not included!) and to relax after the hike.
Return to Asunción in the late afternoon.
