Shore Excursion: City of Belize, Birds, Flowers, History and Rum
We meet you at the port. A slow drive thru the city, see the Belizean way of life, stops are made to see birds, iguanas, flowering plants, fruit trees, mangroves. the guide shares historic and current events that shape Belize. See old, new, developing structures, churches, schools, streetside vendors. British Honduras started, first by Pirates, then Mahagony loggers and slaves, relics of their time include colonial mansions, Mahagony chips and old rum bottles. Hear stories of the memorial tomb and lighthouse of our benefactor, the memorial park, banks, churches, clinics, pharmacy, hospitals, schools and businesses.
midway a 15-minute Stop is done at local supermarket, you may purchase at the gift shop, Deli local snacks, Beers, soft drinks, ice cream, Belize Chocolate, Coffee, Pharmacy. the drive continues then a stop at the rum factory for tasting the Rum, the drive continues thru the historic downtown and return to the port.
Note we skip the Rum tasting when the facility is closed.
