On your way to Grianan of Aileach you will be entertained by our Unique in Car narratives.

you’ll have a panoramic view of the beautiful Irish countryside as you cruise past breathtaking scenery and discover hidden gems.

Grainán of Aileach is probably one of the best known monuments in Inishowen, County Donegal. Situated on a hilltop 250m above sea level the view from the stone fort are breath-taking.

Although steeped in History the views alone are worth the visit with the incredible positioning of the fort on a cleared hilltop providing a complete 360-degree panoramic view.
From the top of the terraced walls on a clear day, you can see across counties Donegal, Derry and Tyrone.

Perched on the west side of the Inishowen peninsula, Fort Dunree is a coastal defence fortification in Donegal dating back to the early 19th century.

Built to defend Lough Swilly during the Napoleonic Wars, today Fort Dunree is a popular site of historical interest for visitors to this most beautiful corner of Ireland.

Fort Dunree Military Museum is one of the key stops on the brilliant Inishowen 100 scenic drive. You can visit the fort while also seeing everything from castles and breath-taking scenery to some of the finest beaches in Donegal.

The Mamore Gap is a road that winds between the Urris Hills, small mountains on the Inishowen Peninsula that overlook the surrounding landscape
Mamore Gap is an area of outstanding beauty in one of the most scenic parts of Donegal. It can be found on the Inishowen Peninsula.

The descent from Mamore Gap provides panoramic views of hills on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other side.

The view from the top is simply sublime, and will offer you an authentic landscape, worthy of a postcard! Don’t forget your camera!

Malin Head is rugged and beautiful, recently chosen as the film location for a Star Wars movie with the Millennium Falcon set up on Malin Head's breathtaking cliff edge.
Malin Head is steeped in history and offers activities such as walking, fishing, swimming and bird watching. North Trawbreaga Bay, you can view Five Finger Strand, home to some of Europe’s largest sand dunes.

Culdaff is one of the gems of the gorgeous Inishowen Peninsula and definitely shouldn’t be missed on a visit up to this remote part of Donegal!

Donegal boasts the highest number of Blue Flag beaches in Ireland and Culdaff is one of them!

Culdaff itself dates back to the 8th century and was originally the site of the monastery of St Buadán. The current village dates to the 18th century. In the autumn the village celebrates the life and works of playwright Charles Macklin
