Snowmobile Safari to Search for the Northern Lights

Experience the magic of arctic nature during the night time, following the trails far from the city lights with just the snowmobiles headlights and moon illuminating the way ahead!

During a small break around the campfire, you can grill sausages, enjoy a hot drink and listen to your guides' stories about The Northern Lights.

With favorable weather conditions and a pinch of luck, you may even get to witness this magical phenomenon with your own eyes.


Itinerary

Our guide will meet you in our office to provide all necessary instructions and outfit for the tour.
After which you will be instructed on how to drive the snowmobile and you will be driving for 45 minutes or so.
Then you will enjoy a campfire made by our guide and hear stories about the northern lights.
Our guide prepares small snacks and hot drinks for you while you can look to the skies for the northern lights.
After the break you will drive back to our office.

"The driving license must be valid in EU countries. Customers shall bring their valid driving licenses for participating in snowmobile driving."
"The snowmobile driver is held liable for any damages caused to the snowmobile. This self-risk amount is a flat-rate of EUR 900 per driver/snowmobile /accident case, without exception or regards to the extent of the damage. If the customer purchases insurance from Wild Nordic for EUR15 (subject to change as advised by Wild Nordic), then the maximum liability of the customer shall be reduced to EUR150 per person."

"Customers are highly encouraged to purchase personal travel insurance (which covers insurance for the activities to be participated);"
"If a customer suffers from illness or disabilities (such as heart disease, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, back or hip problems) that could affect his/her ability to take part in the activities or that she is pregnant, he/she shall prior to participating in the activities consult medical experts as to his/her suitability to participate in the activities. The customer shall acknowledge that he/she participate in the activities to be offered in the Services at his/her own risk in the case that he/she suffers from such illness or disability or pregnancy."

Traveler pickup is offered
-The tour includes transfers from the meeting points in the central area of Rovaniemi, Ounasvaara area, Arctic Treehouse Hotel and Santa Claus Village. If you are staying in an Airbnb or similar, we will notify you of the closest meeting point.
-All the pick-up times are subject to a 15-minute difference depending on the other participants joining the tours. Customers shall wait for their pick-up at the meeting point notified by Wild Nordic.
-Pick up schedule is as follows:
• SantaSport Resort, Sky Ounasvaara and Ounasvaara Chalets: 50 minutes before the tour starting time
• City Center meeting point at Sampokeskus: 40 minutes before the tour starting time
• Arctic TreeHouse: 30 minutes before starting time
• Wild Nordic Safari Center: 20 minutes before starting time

Cancellations and refunds: For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours in advance of the start time of the experience.

  • Hotel pickup and drop-off (Pick-ups are arranged from Rovaniemi City center hotels. Certain time and location of the pick-up will be sent to you in the confirmation e-mail.
  • Use of thermal clothing during the safari (thermal overall, boots, gloves, woolen socks, a scarf and helmets)
  • Guidance is in English, other languages on request
  • Short stops throughout the tour to take photos of the beautiful scenery
  • A longer break with grilled sausages on open fire and stories about the northern lights
