Like walking with a friend, your tour guide will introduce you to three unique tasting locations. At each tasting location on our Food Tour, you will learn and taste an important element of the cuisine of Alicante and the Valencian Community. You will also learn about the history behind each restaurant. Walking around Alicante's charming streets, you will hear about the area's history, architecture, and culture among tasting locations.

Itinerary

Pass By: Teatro Principal de Alicante, Plaza Ruperto Chapi s/n, 03001 Alicante Spain

7 pm Meet your guide at the meeting point.
Introduction with your local gurú, walk to Alicante's most enigmatic areas while learning its history.


Stop At: Rambla Mendez Nunez, 03002 Alicante Spain

Our first stop is a local place where you can try the typical Spanish “tapas” and a glass of wine or vermouth.


Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Calle de Las Setas, Calle San Francisco 30, 03001 Alicante Spain

We will stop in a restaurant where you will learn about the alienation rice. You will try three different kinds of paellas and learn the secrets of the alienation cuisine.
1- Paella cantina: A paella which is made of saffron rice, red peppers, chicken, and shellfish.
2- Arroz a la Banda: A rice dish stewed in fish stock but then served separately from the seafood used to give it its distinctive taste.
3- Arroz Negro: A paella dish featuring seasoned squid cooked in its own ink.

Lastly, we will visit one of the oldest Horchaterías in Alicante to try the Spanish horchata, a sweet milk-type drink made from tiger nuts. This cold, refreshing beverage is typically served for merienda or a sweet snack after lunch. We will enjoy the typical Alicante turron while learning about its origins.
