The Short Inca Trail tour is perfect if you are short on time but still want to experience a full day of hiking on the famous Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Hike with expert, indigenous guides through the vibrant rainforest & visit the ancient Inca archeological sites of Wiñay Wayna on your way to the Sun Gate entrance of Machu Picchu. Your adventure starts at KM104 instead of KM82 on the Inca Trail. Then we will take you to your hotel in Machu picchu town at night, at last enjoy a guided tour of Machu Picchu by an professional expert guide on day two.

The short tour to Machu Picchu starts with a pick-up from your hotel at 4 am to catch the train from Ollantaytambo. The train follows the trail of the Urubamba River until we reach Km 104, where we'll begin our trek. Then we’ll set off to visit our first Inca site. Then we’ll begin hiking as we head for the Classic Inca Trail. We'll have tremendous views of Machu Picchu, the Urubamba River, and other surrounding Inca Sites.
After hiking for three hours, we’ll reach the most beautiful Incan site on the Inca Trail, Wiñay Wayna, Few people get the opportunity to see these elaborate water fountains, temples and agricultural terraces. Here you’ll enjoy lunch that’s been freshly cooked by Alpaca Expeditions’ chefs.
From Wiñay Wayna, we’ll walk to the Sun Gate. This is where we’ll see the picturesque landscape of the famous Machu Picchu. After taking in the once-in-a-lifetime views, we’ll begin our descent to Machu Picchu and take bus down to Aguas Calientes.

Day 2: Machu Picchu Stop At: Machu Picchu, Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, Cusco Region
Today will be all about Machu Picchu. To get the most out of the day we encourage every group to have an early breakfast before catching one of the first buses up to Machu Picchu. This allows you to get ahead of the crowds.
Your guide will provide a full guided tour all along the great Machu Picchu Citadel. The guided tour will last for about 2 hours, and if you have purchased Huayna Picchu tickets ($75 each, need to book in advance) you will have this extra hike after the guided tour. Your guide will give finish the tour and will wait for you at Aguas Calientes.
After lunch, you will go to the train station to catch on your train back to Ollantaytambo. Our driver will pick you up and drive you back to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel.
