Chicago Architectural Highlights Bus Tour

Discover the exciting diversity of Chicago’s world famous architecture as we trace its development from the early days up to the present.

Travel through unique neighborhoods such as the Loop, Hyde Park and Kenwood, Bronzeville, the Gold Coast and the Magnificent Mile as we visit architectural masterpieces by world famous architects. Off coach stops are made in various locations to visit the architecture up close, including some interiors.

Tour departs from Chicago Architecture Center, formerly the Chicago Architecture Foundation. Before or after your tour, view a 4,000-building scale model of Chicago or shop in the award-winning store.
Tour duration not accounted for in the itinerary is to account for travel time.

Pass By: The Loop, 701 S State St, Chicago, IL 60605-2108

Drive through the Loop neighborhood in Downtown Chicago. Discussion will include Millennium Park, State Street, the Chicago Cultural Center and various other historic buildings.

Stop At: Frank Lloyd Wright's Robie House, 5757 S Woodlawn Ave, Chicago, IL 60637-1698

Briefly discuss the exterior of Frank Lloyd Wright's Robie House.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: University of Chicago, 5801 S Ellis Ave, Chicago, IL 60637-5418

Briefly tour the University of Chicago campus.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: S.R. Crown Hall, 3360 S State St, Chicago, IL 60616-4193

Briefly tour the exterior of IIT's Crown Hall, designed by Mies van der Rohe. Depending on the circumstances, a brief interior tour may also be included.

Duration: 15 minutes

Pass By: Museum Campus, Museum Campus, Chicago, Illinois

View museum campus including Soldier Field, the Adler Planetarium, and the Shedd Aquarium. Time permitting, there will be a short stop for photo opportunities before returning to the Chicago Architecture Center.
