Fjord and Whale Safari Tour

In winter, whales come to the herring-rich fjords in northern Norway to hunt. This is a unique opportunity to experience the whales up close while exploring the beautiful Fjords of northern Norway.

You will get to enjoy the beautiful winter skies, while surrounded by mountains and the fjords wildlife.

Once on the boat we will make our way out into the fjords to look for humpback whales and Orcas. We will keep a safe distance and turn off our boat engines to minimize the disturbance to the whales. The whales are just as curious about visitors as we are about them, so they will most likely come and swim around our boat.

Please note that while we try our best, we can not guarantee that we will actually see whales on the trip. The season start and end date can be adjusted according to whale migration patterns.

The transfer to the harbor takes approximately 1.5 hours each way and is included in the tours total time. Actual time on the boat is approximately 3.5 hours.

Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Alta, Alta, Alta Municipality, Finnmark, Northern Norway

Upon meeting at our Adventure Store in the Alta city center you will receive a briefing about todays trip and the equipment you will need on the boat (thermal suit, boots, gloves & googles).

Duration: 30 minutes

Pass By: Altafjord, Alta, Norway

We will take a scenic drive along Altafjord and Langfjord, before we get to our harbor located in Baddern. This will take approximately 1.5 hours in each direction.

Stop At: Badderfjord, Kvænangen Municipality, Norway

The boat trip will start from our harbor in Baddern. Once at the harbor we will start our trip out on the fjord. Your captain will search for the whales and try to get you as close as possible without disturbing them. How far we go out will depends on where the whales are located.
After returning to the harbor we will serve you a warm lunch before returning to Alta.

Pass By: Altafjord, Alta, Norway

We will take the scenic drive back to Alta. This will take approximately 1.5 hours.

We can pick you up at the Cruise Ship harbor. Depending on where the ship is anchored we will adjust our pick up location. Please look for a car that says "Æventyr" on it.
