Depart from Taipei in the morning, today you will take high-speed train to the second biggest city in Taiwan, Kaohsiung. Your driver will be waiting at the train station upon your arrival.

The first stop is Fo Guang Shan, a large monastery founded by Master Hsing Yun in 1967. The symbol of the monastery is the huge statue of Buddha Amitabha in gold color that can be seen from miles away.

Stop At: The Pier-2 Art Centre, No.1, Dayong Rd., Yancheng, Kaohsiung 803 Taiwan
After the monastery tour, you will move down the hill to the center of the city and enjoy a stroll through Pier-2 Art Center, which was once an abandoned pier warehouse site. After revamping by a group of persistent artist, today this place has reborn as vibrant hub for arts and culture activities.

After Pier-2 Art Center, you will take ferry to the offshore island of Kaohsiung—Cijing Island, and enjoy a nostalgic pedicab ride through Cijing Old Street. In addition to the historic fortress, the lighthouse and the famous Cijin Tianhou Temple, Cijing is also known for its abundant seafood. Since you are here, it’s not possible to miss the delectable street foods, from deep-fried snacks to freshly caught fish, there’s always plenty to eat.

After the tour in Cijing Island, it’s time to indulge your cravings with local foods in a night market. Liuhe Tourist Night Market is the oldest and most typical night market in Kaohsiung, where you have the opportunity to taste the city’s signature street foods such as seafood congee, steamed salted shrimps, papaya milk drink, rice cake, Stinky Tofu, etc.
After a full day touring around Kaohsiung, tonight you will stay at a 4-star hotel in the downtown Kaohsiung.

After breakfast, you will depart for Kenting, the south of the border also a paradise for surfers and divers
Kenting National Park is Taiwan’s first national park, known for its coastal geologic features and landscapes, and the marine biodiversity due to crustal deformation and tropical climate. On the second day of your tour, you will visit the most popular attractions in the park.

Maopitou (literally cat’s nose), is a unique natural rock formation that looks just like a giant crouching cat from a distance.

Eluanpi Lighthouse was built during the Qing Dynasty. It was listed as one of the Eight Views of Taiwan during Japanese colonization.

Longpan Park is a coral limestone tableland facing the Pacific Ocean that was eroded by rainwater.

After Longpan Park, you will stop by Hengchun Ancient City Gate on the way back to Kaohsiung. Hengchun is known for its well-preserved city walls that surround the city for over a hundred years, it is also preserved as a national historic monument.

Day 3: Kaohsiung - Tainan - TaipeiStop At: Chihkan Tower (Fort Provintia), No.212 Section 2, Minzu Road, Zhongxi District, West Central District, Tainan Taiwan
After breakfast, you will head for Tainan and go on an adventure of the “old capital city”, Tainan. Tainan, the oldest city in Taiwan, is famous for a large number of historic buildings and has a profound historical heritage. On the last day of your private tour to South Taiwan, you will visit some classic attractions.
The first stop is Fort Provintia, which was listed as a national historic monument in 1983. The fortress was originally constructed by the Dutch in 1653, but then destroyed and rebuilt during Qing Dynasty. Since then, the fortress was reconstructed for several times since Japanese colonization. Today Fort Provintia has become one of the most iconic landmarks in the city of Tainan.

Your tour continues with a visit to Fort Zeelandia, which was built by the Dutch East India Company during their 38-year rule of the western part of Taiwan. The original fortress was nearly destroyed by the British army during the 19th century then reconstructed by the Japanese people.

Anping Tree House is not far from Fort Zeelandia, it used to be the warehouse of the former Tait & Co. Merchant House. After being abandoned for many years, the building was taken over by banyan trees, which the aerial roots reach the structures deeply and become a part of the building. The unique coexistence of the banyan trees and the warehouse has become an intriguing attraction.
After lunch (at your own expense), you will head back to Taipei by the high-speed train. Upon arrival, your driver will be waiting at the train station and take you to your hotel.
