Acatenango Volcano: Visit Its Summit On a 4WD Vehicle in 1 Day + Meal at the Top
If you are looking to experience the adrenaline of Guatemalan volcanoes without too much physical effort, this tour is for you.
This trip allows visitors to approach as much as possible to one of the Acatenango Volcano summits in a comfortable 4WD vehicle, and therefore you will only need to walk for approximately 1 and a half hours to the top.
Enjoy a nice meal at the top of the summit and appreciate the mesmerizing views. Don't forget your camera and comfortable clothing to have the best time!

We will start this tour by picking you up at the lobby of your hotel in Antigua Guatemala. Make sure to bring all the things you need for the ascent and have the best attitude to have a great time!
The time to get to the base of Acatenango Volcano from Antigua is around 1 hour.

Stop At: Acatenango Volcano, Volcan Acatenango Chimaltenango Sacatepequez, Antigua 03001 Guatemala
This hike up to the volcano will be something unique and different. Upon reaching the base of the volcano we will change vehicles to a 4WD. This vehicle will be driven by an expert pilot on mountainous roads. The vehicle will take us up to 80% of the road and the rest of the way we will go up on foot.

We will climb the last part of the way on foot. You will have the opportunity to enjoy the last part of the climb with all your senses from feeling the sunlight on your skin to the mesmerizing views and more. This will take us approximately 1 to 2 hours.
Acatenango is one of the greatest hikes in Guatemala, where you'll enjoy spectacular views & if you are lucky you'll witness the emission of gases and lava from our active Fuego Volcano.
Once we are at the summit, you will enjoy a delicious meal while you relax and appreciate the environment and the beautiful landscapes. Enjoy!

After enjoying our meal at the top, we will begin to descend on foot until we meet again with our 4WD vehicle. The 4WD vehicle will take us to the base of the volcano and there we will change the vehicle again to take you to your hotel and rest.
