Stop At: Quito, Quito, Pichincha Province

This tour will take you out of the beaten path! Cochasquí is one of the biggest and most important archaeological sites of Ecuador. It is located in the northern Andes. The complex has fifteen pyramids and several tombs (tolas) that belong the period 850 B.C. – 1.550 A.C. You will start this wonderful adventure at 8:00 a.m.

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Cochasqui Pyramids, Highway 35, Tabacundo 170450 Ecuador

Then you will have the opportunity to hike and be surrounded by hundreds of llamas while we learn all about the Caranquis, one of the most developed and unknown civilizations in South America, that defended their territory against the Inca invasion in the XV Century until early years of the XVI century in the epic battle of Yaguarcocha!

Caranquis never managed stone carvings, only volcanic tuff, locally well-known as cangagua and adobe. However, they built big monuments as flat topped pyramids used as ceremonial sites or astronomical observatories. They used to bury their dead people under artificial hills called “Tolas”. After our unforgettable hike through the Inga Ñan (Inca trail), admiring the stunning views of the "Avenue of the Volcanoes".

Stop At: Cayambe, Cayambe, Pichincha Province

You will drive to a local rose farm to learn all about the fifth main industry of Ecuador! Once in there you will learn everything about the process of growing, harvesting and exporting roses!

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Guachalá, Ecuador

You will have time for lunch, and after 10 minutes driving you will stop in the Quitsato's Sundial, which is a big stone-mosaic-circle of 52 meters of diameter, where you can prove perfectly that it is exactly located in the middle of the world, according to the shade that a 10-meter-cylinder projects every day or during the different solstices and equinoxes!
