Rotterdam's Street Art Private Walking Tour
Rotterdam is always striving for a brighter future! Proof of this is the skyscrapers, the epitome of scientific thought, and the phenomenal leap which the city has made in the past 70 years.
But apart from large-scale projects, Rotterdam has a hidden side that is equally interesting: Rotterdam's street art has a life of its own. But if you peek under the curtain, you'll realize how much more there is to see.
Rotterdam is full of street art. From classic graffiti to street installations, from huge murals to tiny mosaics, Rotterdam has it all. Not only is there room for faceless hooligans, but also "the great and terrible" Picasso. Street art is a terrific storyteller, and it will present us with the most amazing, touching, and fascinating stories that no one else knows about.

Stop At: Schiestraat 18, 3013 AH Rotterdam, Netherlands
Rotterdam street art is a great tool to discover the character of Rotterdammers and what they are all about. And this lovely piece by Joren Joshua does an excellent job. While Rotterdam is an extremely open-minded and welcoming city its roots lie in its port. And sea-port is not a place for rookies. Joren Joshua combines the lightheartedness of the contemporary city with its roots and no-nonsense mentality

Santa Claus aka “The Buttplug Gnome” by Paul McCarthy
Probably the most famous statue in Rotterdam and definitely the one to cause the most giggles and shy smiles. A symbol of the holiday's spirit holding an obviously phallic object in his hand (also known as a Christmas tree) to this day provokes a lot of debates and has a long history in Rotterdam. A must-see object- zero doubt.

Will You Marry Me- by Tymon de Laat
Street art evokes and expresses many emotions. Sometimes it can do it literally. Will You Marry Me- Is both a very strong piece of art and the most creative marriage proposal in Rotterdam. Tymon de Laat managed to weave in a lot of references to his (spoiler alert) wife, however, to a regular passing by it is yet another fantastic work by the master.

Sylvette by Pablo Picasso.
While you may think public sculptures are not street art I would like to disagree. It is art, and it is on the street. Therefore it would be a crime not to include Pablo Picasso’s giant stone sculpture of the muse that has inspired him for many years. Weirdly shaped and yet astonishingly beautiful it is there for all Rotterdammers to see
