Enjoy the unique mountain world of this former Olympic resort which includes the highest peak in Germany, the impressive walkable canyon "Partnachklamm", which can be reached from the ski stadium with the famous ski jumps, as well as sophisticated pedestrian zones, which invite you to a leisurely stroll. There is something for everyone at Garmisch-Partenkirchen, let this unique spot work its charm on you.

Stop At: Olympic Ski Jump, Karl-und Martin-Neuner-Platz, 82467 Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany

Built during the Nazi dictatorship for the 1936 Winter Olympics and remodeled for the planned Winter Olympics in 1940, which failed due to World War II. For this purpose, the two communities Garmisch and Partenkirchen were forcibly merged.

Learn from your tour guide Stefan more about the darkest years 1933 - 1945, but also about the current use of the stadium and the ski jumps.

The Partnachklamm is a fascinating 700 meters (1/2 mile) long and up to 80 meters (260 feet) deep gorge, through which the meltwater of the Zugspitze Glacier rages. It is safe to walk on all year round and is an ideal destination for any weather!

From the car park to the entrance of the gorge you need 25 minutes on foot or in season by horse-drawn carriage (about € 20.00 for 4 people each way)

Take the ultramodern cable car or the cozy rack railway to Germany's highest mountain. Enjoy the magnificent 360° panorama and have fun in the snow all year round on this glacier.

Between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Oberammergau, the 14th-century Benedictine Abbey of Ettal, with its own brewery and unique Baroque monastery church, is nestled in the picturesque mountain scenery. In less than an hour’s drive we reach the Bavarian capital, which is affectionately called "cosmopolitan city with heart".
Your tour guide Stefan, who has been living in Munich for over 25 years, will be delighted to introduce you to countless sights and their historical background.

Please plan at least 1.5 hours for a "best-of", though we recommend that you schedule at least 2.5 hours.

Even – or maybe especially – the darkest times in history provide many opportunities for learning, which is why the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial draws a steadily increasing stream of visitors from around the world.
On a 1 - 2.5-hour audio-guide tour, you will be informed about the atrocities of the Nazi regime. (Please note that you will not be accompanied by your guide Stefan during your visit to the memorial.)
