The Temazcal is a pre-Hispanic bath. Its origin is lost in time. The name Temazcal is formed by two words that come from the Nahuatl language: "temas" (means bath) and "calli" (means house). In the tradition of the American Indians, their healing bath ceremony is called Inipi. The temazcal is a very old ceremony, known as a steam bath, in which the grandfather fire guides us. It is the quintessential connection to Pachamama, Mother Earth, and a gateway to purification. In this sacred womb, we come into contact with the 4 sacred elements of Creation: water, air, earth and fire. Entering the temazcal generates a physical and spiritual rebirth.
