Meet the guide in Piazza XX Settembre next to the Cinema Teatro Giuseppe Verdi, very close to the old gate of the historical centre.
You will learn about the origins and history of the town, then we’ll visit the Ducal Palace, residence of the duke's family of Martina Franca, which preserves impressive interiors completely frescoed.
Next stop will be the Basilica of San Martino, the main church re-built in a Late Baroque style and dedicated to the Patron Saint.
Walking along the alleys, we will meet elegant noble palaces which made the Martina Baroque style famous, and you will know something about this local architecture.
In the end of the tour we'll see some defensive towers, which were part of the previous city walls, and we'll have a look at Lama district, considered the most ancient area of the town.

Meet your guide at the Public Garden, where you can enjoy a stunning panorama of the Itria Valley on a hill 400 metres high.
The tour starts in front of a defensive tower, Torre Grande, at the entrance of the old town, which was part of the system of fortification.
A stop is provided at the Mother Church, re-built in the 1800s, which preserves remains of the previous church and some precious Renaissance sculptures.
We'll explore the enchanting 4 historical districts in the historical centre, enjoying the atmosphere and beautiful corners: Piazza dell’Orologio, main square in this area, Porta Piccenne...
In the end, we'll walk along the pedestrian area of Corso Umberto, beyond the city walls, and go back to the Public Garden in Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi.

We'll visit one of the most beautiful villages of Italy, enjoying a fantastic panoramic view of the Itria Valley from the renowned "lungomare".
After passing through Porta Napoli, the old entrance gate, we will walk along Vittorio Emanuele square and Main Street, where the Civic Tower is located, and will reach Palazzo Morelli, one of the most important noble buildings with a Baroque facade.
During the stroll in the historical centre we will have the opportunity to admire the frescoes of the church of San Nicola di Myra, perfectly immersed among the white “cummerse”, that is to say the two-storey houses with sloping roof covered with chiancarelle stones.
Next stop will be the Mother Church, realized in the early 1800s, dedicated to Saint George, Patron Saint of Locorotondo.
The tour will end at the Church of Madonna della Greca, among the oldest churches in Locorotondo, which has a basic but elegant style.
