We will explore the marvelous Roman Excavations of Oplontis and Stabia, unknown to most people and we are going to have a fun experience at a beautiful winery!
The Roman Villas of Poppea and Villa San Marco are two ancient Roman dwellings where wealthy Romans could rest from the hustle and bustle of the Capital Rome. We will admire beautiful wall paintings, floor mosaics, and architecture. We will also visit the brand new little Archeological Museum of Stabia with some amazing finds from the excavations. We will stay away from the mainstream tourism.
For the second part of the tour we will drive to the National Park of Mt Vesuvius for wine tasting in a beautiful setting. The Russo family will welcome us, we will visit the vineyards and we will sit for a simple but delicious lunch. It is going to be fun and relaxing!

We will visit together this amazing private dwelling where wealthy Romans use to relax and enjoy life. We will see the private bath-house and the huge porticoes. We will discover the kitchen and understand how rich Romans lived.

We will visit the Archeological Museum of Stabia. The Museum has been recently inaugurated. It keeps some beautiful wall paintings from the Villa San Marco. Also, we will see some objects used daily by the Romans. You will marvel at the remains of an ancient roman wagon

We will not climb to the top of Mount Vesuvius. We will visit and take lunch at a beautiful winery. You can take great pictures of the volcano and at the bay of Naples. We will learn about the local wines. We will have a wonderful lunch. Super fun!

We will take a wonderful rest at the organic wine farm “Cantina del Vesuvio”, within the boundaries of the National Park of Mt Vesuvius. It is a wonderful setting overlooking the Bay of Naples.
There will be a short guided walk to the vineyard to discover this unique land and how they produce their “Lacryma Christi” wines.
It is beautifully located and it is going to be a fun experience.
Lunch consists of a pre-set menu:
Appetizers: Bruschetta, ricotta cheese, olives, provolone cheese, salame and capocollo cured pork meat
Main: Spaghetti with the cherry tomatoes “del Piennolo” from Mt Vesuvius
Dessert: “Pastiera” - wheat and ricotta cake
Along with lunch over 5 different wines will be served (Rosè Sparkling, White, Rosé. Red, Red Reserva, sweet Dessert Wine).
The cost is € 28 per person that can be paid on the spot with a card or cash. There also is an upgraded version of the wines for the cost of € 35 per person.
Of course, you can buy wine at the end if you wish so.
