This is the most famous postcard of Quito! It is a symbol of the people religiosity and faith. Even though the statue made of almost 7.000 pieces of aluminum was set in 1975, the origin of this representation is in a 1734 sculpture made by Bernardo de Legarda, one of the most famous Colonial artists from Quito!

Pululahua is a Quichua word that means “cloud of water” or fog. It is a collapsed volcano with great biodiversity and unique geological formations. It is due to this uniqueness that it was declared a geobotanical reserve.

The Church and Convent of San Francisco form part of the City of Quito World Heritage Site, the first site ever inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1978.
