Around Cape Greko walk (upto 10 km) - from Larnaca

This coastal walk connects Konnos beach at the northern tip of Cape Greko park with Glyky Nero beach in Ayia Napa. The route is 10 km long on the rocky coast. Cape Greko park is a small park between the bustling beach resorts of Ayia Napa and Protaras. The itinerary (a possible stretch of it is on Aphrodite trail) goes by major attractions in the area including the group of sea caves in Agia Napa, the group of sea caves of Cape Greko (known as Palathkia 'ie Palaces), as well as Ammos Tou Kambouri beach, Kermia beach, Kamara tou Koraka natural arch and Agioi Anargyroi chapel (and adjacent cave). Cape Greko park is a good destination also for birdwatchers, especially during spring migration. The waters are usually very calm on the east side. In the hot season sea turtles visit the area to feed. In older times the Mediterranean monk seal was also around - now a few individuals are spotted here sporadically.

Stop At: Konnos Bay, Between Protaras and Cape Greco, Ayia Napa Cyprus

Konnos beach is one of the most beautiful in the south east part of Cyprus as well as the whole island. Excellent place for swimming, hanging out and snorkeling. Many times sea turtles are spotted here. Depending on the duration package booked, we will either pause very briefly here or go for a dip.

Stop At: Agioi Anargyroi Chapel, Cape Greco Area, Ayia Napa Cyprus

This is a small chapel right on the rugged coast towards the north east part of Cape Greko park. The style is reminiscent of Greek aegean islands rather than of Cyprus. There is a cave/sanctuary close to the modern chapel. A bit further on the coast towards the south one can find 'Kamara tou Koraka' natural arch. It is an interested place to visit, though now going on it is prohibited and can be dangerous.

Stop At: Cape Greco View Point, Ayia Napa Cyprus

Cape Greko rock is an omposing mass that can be seen from afar (upto the coastline near Xylofagou. From here one enjoys excellent views of the whole park, the sea and beyond. There at least two different itineraries we can take for the walk. One of them is along the coast all the way whereas the other one passes through here. Usually we choose the later and ascend (and consequently descend) the rock.

Stop At: Sea Caves, Kavo Greko Street Cape Greco, Ayia Napa 5330 Cyprus

The Sea Caves of Cape Greko (know by Greek Cypriots as 'Palathkia' or 'Palaces' in English) is a cove with a collection of sea caves and a major attraction in the area. It is thought that in older times (before mass tourism) this was a place used by Monachus monachus seals to give birth and raise the young ones.

There is another collection of Sea Caves near Agia Napa, which is in fact the end of our walking trip. It takes teh guide between 20-30 minutes to retrieve the car. At this time the walkers could explore the sea caves (they include the so called 'Lovers bridge'), visit the nearby beach of Glyky Nero or visit the free open air sculpture museum nearby.

Stop At: Agioi Saranta Cave Church, Un Named Road, Protaras, Paralimni Cyprus

This is a very particular cave church in Protaras. We visit here depending on the package (if we have enough time) and depending on the pace of the walk, etc.
