Huaca Pucllana is an archaeological site in Lima, it is one of the main attractions of Lima

The Great Pyramid is at the heart of the Ceremonial Center in Huaca Pucllana. It is a truncated and staggered pyramid structure.

It is built almost entirely with bricks and filled with boulders and sand. It consists of a pyramid of 25 meters high and a set of courtyards, plazas and enclosures Northeast this. It has an exhibition hall, circuit visits and other attractions. It has six hectares, but by the early forties of the twentieth century the area three times the current; neglect and disinterest in the past made valuable evidence and smaller pyramids were destroyed for the construction of houses, avenues and parks.

Pucllana is the name of colonial origin; the ethnohistorian Maria Rostworowski mentions that in colonial documents the curaca Don Pedro Chumbi Charnan of Huatca, Pugliana mentions the site as one of the limits of their possessions; other colonial documents speak of the site with the name of Pullana or Puliana.

Another explanation may come from the Quechua name that means playing Pukllay. The noun derived Pukllana means Place to play.
