The Plaza da Liberdade de Belo Horizonte, was built at the time of the foundation of the city, Praça da Liberdade sheltered the headquarters of the power of Minas Gerais.

The Cultural Circuit of Praça da Liberdade is around the square, and has old public administration buildings that became cultural and entertainment spaces. The Banco do Brasil Cultural Center (CCBB) has been part of this group since 2013 and has an intense cultural program.

The Palácio da Liberdade, former headquarters of the Minas government, looks a real European palace. Richly decorated and displaying a neoclassical layout, it impresses all its visitors.
