The Mercado de Chillan is one of the most attractive tourist postcards of the provincial capital of Ñuble, receiving periodically hundreds of visitors who dare to walk their patios and corridors in search of different flavors and aromas.

The artisanal fair, which occupies an immense block of the city, gathers in its interior a true sample of the different cultural manifestations not only of this region, but also of the rest of the country and of all Latin America.
    
Wicker, leather, stone, rubber, basketry, wood carvings, highland wool, metals and bronzes and everything that can happen to the visitor are part of the articles offered by these posts, side by side.

It was in 1858 when the then mayor José Marcelino Dañin decided to move from the vicinity of the city square to its current location. What until then was a Saturday fair, went on to become a perpetual custodian of Chilean traditions to the delight of those who walk its alleys and courtyards.
