Gray Glacier . Torres del Paine - CHILE
Direccion:
Parque Nacional Torres del Paine The Gray Glacier is located within the Torres del Paine National Park and is part of the Southern Ice Fields.
The glacier presents a bluish coloration, due to the absorption of ice of wavelengths of red light, and the dispersion of wavelengths of blue light. Some parts of the glacier have a gray color, due to the abrasion that occurs due to the ice and the load of rock fragments that slide on the bedrock under the glacier, polishing the latter, generating a high amount of rock meal that causes the melting water of the glacier acquires the designated gray tone.
