The main access is by Route 5 South, to the Lanco junction, go by Lanco to Panguipulli, then take the Panguipulli-Puerto Fuy international road that will take you to the Reserve.
From Temuco you must make the route Villarrica - Lican Ray - Coñaripe - Neltume Lake - Neltume.
If you are traveling from Argentina, the route to follow is through the international Hua Hum pass, after crossing the Pirehueico lake by barge (passage open all year).
Lake Pirehueico, belonging to the Panguipulli Commune, fulfills an integrating role between Chile and Argentina. Sailing 26 kilometers in an hour and a half through a wonderful natural reserve of native forest, with trees that from the same shore hang from the Andean massif, the barge "Hua Hum" connects the Chilean towns of Puerto Fuy and Puerto Pirehueico.
From this last point, with a height above sea level of only 659 meters, the traveler accesses the Hua Hum International Pass, connecting with the Argentine city of San Martin de Los Andes, by land or through Lake Lacar.
