Information about Limon

Puerto Limón or Limón is a city in Costa Rica, head of the canton and the province of the same name. It is located at a distance of 152 kilometers east of San José.

The city of Puerto Limón is not known for being a city with a lot of tourist affluence. Many visitors to Costa Rica consider this a good thing, especially if they are trying to see what life is like in Costa Rica. However, one of the most important aspects of this port is how different it is from other cities in the rest of the country. To this day, it maintains a strong Afro-Caribbean culture. The majority of residents of Puerto Limón are also of Caribbean descent. In this city, most people speak Spanish, English and Patuá.
