Natural Monument Salar de Surire. Putre - CHILE

Natural Monument covers an area of 11,298 hectares and is located in the commune of Putre Parinacota Province.



This protected area includes areas of salt flats and highland ecosystems.



Its name comes from the word "suri" or rhea, ostrich Chilean species inhabiting the area that will see during the trip.

The park has two campsites in the area of thermal waters Polloquere, without infrastructure, 16 kilometers away from the nursery Conaf.



Access Routes


The drive is accessed through the CH-11 international highway from Arica to km. Approximately 165, then southeast on a dirt road in good condition and was traveling all year, except for very rainy periods.



Alternatively, the same road to the town of Zapahuira and then continues in the direction of Chapiquiña portezuelo, connecting the road A-235, completing 121 km. From Zapahuira.
